+ Are you a licensed company?
Yes, we are fully licensed - higher tier waste carriers. A copy of our certificate will be provided upon request.
+ Some of the house contents have value, will they help reduce the cost of the clearance?
Yes absolutely! , when we make our site visit and do the walk around with you, all items of value will be identified and photographed. The values of these items will be clearly itemised on the quote we provide and will offset the cost of the clearance.
+ How much notice do you need to clear our property?
We can clear at short notice, especially if it is important to you. Generally we like 7 days notice so we can plan and prepare, however this time can often be reduced.
+ I don't need a full house clearance, do you clear part loads & single items?
Yes, not everyone has a whole house to clear and we recognise that. Perhaps you have a handful of items scattered around the house or an attic you have been avoiding for a few years! We can clear part loads and single items at short notice.
+ How much do you charge?
This is quite rightly the most frequently asked question. Each and every house clearance varies depending on the contents. We will visit your property and provide you with an exact, no obligation quote taking into account ALL items with a re-sale value before providing our price.
+ How and when do I pay?
You will pay upon completion of the clearance and only when you are entirely satisfied that the job has been carried out as agreed. We will send you an emailed invoice - you will be able to pay via BACS transfer or we accept all major credit and debit cards if preferred. We will then issue an emailed receipt of payment for you to keep for your records.
+ What is salvage?
During the house clearance process we will frequently mention the word salvage. 'Salvage' or 'Salvageable items' refer to items within your property that we (MHC) will be able to use to offset the costs involved. They can be ANYTHING with value.
+ Can we help the process by tidying, boxing and bagging the contents before you arrive?
Actually no. Many People do attempt to help the process by starting to box and bag up some of the contents before we arrive. Although it may seem helpful, it actually slows the process down. We prefer to view the contents as they are as we can often find value in something that you may not.
+ Do I need to be present when you clear the property?
No, although you are more than welcome to be if you wish. As long as we have access to keys and permission to enter the property we can carry out the works without you needing to be present.
+ Can you clean the property- post clearance?
Yes! Mr House Clearance offer a post clearance cleaning service. All staff are trained to clean a property to rent/buy standards and will leave your house looking and smelling fresh. We can provide a cleaning quote during our clearance site visit.
